Coconut palm

Story

Coconut palms are cultivated for fruit production.
At the end of their lifecycle, they are removed and replaced with new saplings.

The problem

At the end of their productive life, coconut palm trunks are often underutilised or discarded.

Our approach

We approach this material differently.

Giving an overlooked natural resource a new purpose.

Our purpose

Designed without depending on forest resources.

Developing meaningful alternatives.

Approach

Repairable • Replaceable • Renewable • Recyclable

A material shaped by time not standardization.
The process prioritizes reuse over extraction.
Natural variation is retained, not concealed.

Process

Recovered timber is processed, kiln-dried, and stabilized.

Each piece is shaped to retain the natural structure of the original trunk.

Wood protection is applied using selected water-based coating.

Structure and Finish

Steel components are thermal zinc coated for corrosion resistance.

Material and Finish

Coconut palm presents naturally varied grains. Rather than masking this, we offer three restrained tones that enhance its depth while preserving authenticity.

Long term outdoor performance is supported through periodic inspection and basic maintenance.
